Upcoming New Year

I'm so not a party girl.  I never really have been.  I'm actually sitting here, trying to remember the last New Year's Eve party I went to.  I seriously think it was 3 years ago.  I went with Steve to a friend's place and I remember being bored... and tired. :)  I knew a few people there, and I enjoyed talking with them and hanging out, but after a couple of hours of that I was ready to cut out.

And yes, I've been called a Debbie Downer because of this.

Sometimes I wish I was a decent party goer.  But as far back as I can remember, I never was good at going to parties, letting loose and having a retardedly good time.  I was usually the quiet girl who was hanging out on the couch, not drinking.  Another thing?  I was never a big drinker.  I tried in my college days, but my stomach and taste buds just couldn't handle it.  I would have rather been eating a massive plate of cookies than chugging beer. :)

However, there were a few good New Year's Eve parties I was fortunate enough to attend in my late teens/eary 20s.  One New Year's Eve party that stands out in my mind was going to Vince McMahon's (owner of the WWE) New Year's Eve bash at his fancy mansion in Conneticut with my best friend Hilary.  Hilary's dad knew Vince, so that was our "in." :)  We got all dressed up in prom-like attire and arrived early in the evening.  I remember eating a ton of delicious hors d'ovueres and getting drunk on champagne.  Ron Howard, Vince's neighbor, dropped in to say hi!  Needless to say, we had a good time.

*Sidenote*
I just searched my picture bin for a good 20 minutes trying to find a picture of the WWE New Year's Eve party.  I came up empty. :(  Damn my disorganization!

Anywho, my big New Year's Eve plan this year involves my husband, my dogs, and our couch.  We do plan on taking the "kids" somewhere today for a good walk.  But this evening we will be hanging out on the couch watching movies, all cozied up together.  It may sound like a bust to some, but to me, it sounds like the best New Year's Eve celebration EVER!

I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year's, no matter how they choose to celebrate!

Peacing out,
Nikki
