Sunday Fun

Over the past couple of weekends, Steve & I have decided to make Sunday our fun day.  Motivated by our oldest dog Camper, we figured our Sundays could be dedicated towards finding a nice local spot to hike with our dogs.  Now Sunday is a day I get to look forward to because I know I get to spend it with my husband and our "kids."

Last weekend we went to one of my favorite spots--McConnells Mills.  I love hiking there!  And it was perfect last weekend because there weren't too many people roaming around.

I love this shot.

The weather was perfect... don't I look so serious?!

After our hike, we decided to go and buy a Christmas tree.  The one thing Steve & I had a hard time agreeing on was the size of the tree.  I didn't want to go too big, but Steve wanted something massive.  I wanted something smaller because in the years past Steve has always brought home these mammoth trees that barely fit in a house.  What can I say, I was gun shy.  So in the end, I won.

The world's smallest Christmas tree!
Steve was totally right... this tree is tiny. :)  Next year we will definitely get something bigger.
This past weekend, we spent our Sunday hiking in North Park.  The one cool thing I got out of it was finally seeing how close we truly are to the park.  I had no idea!  But still, the park tends to be pretty busy, and I'm not a big fan of that.  And of course, I forgot to bring the camera.  Oh well... you didn't miss much. :)

On another happy note, I decided to enroll in an art class at the Sweetwater Center in Sewickley.  It starts at the end of January, and I'm so excited (and a little nervous).  I figured it would be good for me to take a legitimate class because I tend to thrive with structure.  Plus, it will get me out there meeting people who are interested in the same things I am.  And on impulse, I also signed up for a dance class, too.  LOL  Should be interesting.  Both classes are on the same day, so I figured what the hell.  Why not? :)

I'm working on a couple of pieces right now and I will be sure to post them as soon as I finish them!

Peacing out,
Nikki
