Hot Summer Sunday

With my upcoming art shows, I'm working (and sweating) my butt off in preparation.  Seriously, what is up with this Africa hot weather?  I'm melting away as I sit and type.

Anywho, I've been making lists with friggin' sub-lists this time around, and the good news is I'm crossing off one item at a time at a very steady pace.

This morning, one of my "to dos" was to post a few items on Craigslist.  Always a fun event.
Camper checking out his reflection on a mirror I'm trying to sell.
Another item on my "to do" list?  Send a ton of pictures of my mom to my mom in her newly purchased Mother-Of-The-Bride dress!  We went shopping for dresses yesterday, and the place we ended up buying from was Sorelle.  It was such a fun experience, and their selection was huge!

Here's a picture of my mom in one of the dresses she tried on (it wasn't the one she ended up with though!):

It's been difficult to stay on track with my artwork when my wedding is coming up so soon-- 83 more days!  All I want to do is go online and look at cakes and table settings.  For instance, look at this cake that I love:

Love it!  Minus the birds.
Or how about this cake?
Again, love it.  Again, what is going on with the birds, people!?
FYI: I'm not putting birds on top of our wedding cake.  I want a rustic wedding cake, but that doesn't mean I want animals all over it.

So, as you can see, I'm easily distracted with the pretty, tasty things for wedding planning.  Must get back on track!

So, where was I?  Oh, yes.  The other items on my "to do" list?  Well, there's the normal boring stuff like clean the house and make price tags for art show.  Then there is the entertaining stuff like post blog and paint.  Anyway I look at it, it all pretty much needs to be done by the end of the day tomorrow.  I'm working at the pet resort on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday Steve and I are heading off to Port Huron, Michigan for the Blue Water Fest!  Be sure to check out the link to see my name on the roster!

I'll be posting again before I leave for my second show.  Try and stay cool!

Peacing out,
Nikki
