Organized Chaos

It's been awhile since I've posted (sorry to those who read!), but I'm finally able to take some time for my blog and make a few changes.

To quickly bring you up to speed: Steve and I purchased our house in Sewickly in mid-December, and we have been working on it non-stop since (well, him more than me).  I had to work on the house and my art at the same time, which was very challenging.  I managed to meet my deadlines, both for our home and my artwork!  I've applied to 3 art shows already, and Steve and I moved into our house this past Saturday!

Now we are dealing with the aftermath of a move.  It's been kind of painful (probably more so for me since I'm a neat freak).  I was working on unpacking today.  In a word, it sucked.  I don't know which activity I dislike more--packing or unpacking.  I was able to make some considerable progress today, and I'm proud of my work.

This will be a fun preview of my remodeled farmhouse.  Here is a picture of the first bedroom (second floor) before I attacked it.
Fabulous, huh?  I guess I'm picking an odd way to introduce my new house.  Oh well.  Here it is after.
You can finally see our newly refinished floors!  Aren't they nice?!

Here is a picture of our master bedroom in disaster mode.
And here it is after.

I loooooove my new bedroom!  The new area rug I purchased from Remnant City is fantastic.  I can't wait to hang up some paintings!

And finally, my art room.  Yes, even my art room has been a dumping zone (there are no sacred areas in this house).
I couldn't look at it like that anymore, even though I'm not really "in" that room yet.

For those of you who are wondering, we are selling those portable wardrobe thingys ASAP.  No more need for those!

I'll be keeping up with my posting, I swear.  I'm updating and beautifying my blog obsessively right now, so I assure you you will hear from me soon!

Peacing out,
Nikki
