Eventful April Fool's Day

It's Aaaaaaaappprrril Fooooooooollll's Day!
(My friend Julie reminded me of one of my favorite episode's from Mama's Family today!)

God, I love that show!

Anywho, today has been quite the eventful day.  Let's go down the list with the updates, shall we?

Event #1: Steve is jackhammering the front porch as I type this out.

Bye-bye ugly porch

I'm glad I'm not doing this job.

We must get rid of the ugly porch before we can begin building our massive front porch.  Steve and I are excited to finally begin working on the outside of the house.  It is fugly right now!

Event #2: My paintings are b*tch slapping me.

This one turned out BEAUTIFULLY!  I love it so much I want to keep it... but I won't. :)

This one is the culprit.  Can't seem to get it right.
I've painted "the culprit" twice now, and I am STILL not satisfied.  I have a hard time with water in my paintings.  Always have.  Plus, it photographs HORRIBLY.  Look at the thing!  Bleeeeech!

Event #3: After having my ass handed over to me by my painting, I decided to go for a run.
Muddy running shoes!
I'm really trying to get back into working out.  It's the oddest thing.  I used to be OBSESSED with working out when I had my 8:30 to 4:30 job.  I felt like I had to do something workout-wise every day.  Now, I could care less.  I'm going for 20 minute runs every other day now, and it's all I can do to drag my ass out the door (I think the cold weather has something to do with it, too).

Event #4:  Side drawer table makeover time!

Before (it looked worse in person)

Drying
It's still in the process of drying, plus I need to polyurethane it.  I will be sure to post the "real" after pictures once I have it back in the first bedroom.

Event #5: I'm legit... got my business cards in the mail!

BOO YAH!
Not bad for my very first personal business card.  I''m happy with the outcome, and I finally have something to give people when I tell them about my line of work.

Event #6: Time to start earning some cash
Steve's mom own a kennel/pet grooming service.  It's called Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort (Camper's picture is on the front page-he is the yellow dog standing on a mountain of sand!).  I'm going to start working there a couple of days a week.  I think it will be a nice gig since I love animals so much.  Steve and I are going over to her place tonight, so I'm sure we will be discussing a start date for me.  More change on the horizon!

So, that's it for my events... I guess it doesn't seem too drastic, huh?  I better head upstairs and finish that side table.  I'm not sure if I'm done wrestling with my paintings today.

Peacing out,
Nikki
